According to international experts, there is currently an increase in the number of incurable patients which need palliative care in various countries of the world.
In our country, in spite of the tendency towards improvement of primary and specialized medical care at the world standards within the implementation of the National Health project, the problem of organization of palliative care for incurable patients both in multidisciplinary hospitals, hospices and outpatient clinics conditions remains insufficiently resolved.
The next issue of the journal of the Federal Service for Supervision in Healthcare "Bulletin of Roszdravnadzor" (No. 4, 2015) is devoted to this vital issue. The topic of the issue: “Palliative medical care in the Russian Federation”.
“The interest of our magazine in palliative medical care in the Russian Federation,” is said in the address of the editor-in-chief of the publication, the head of the journal of the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare M.A. Murashko, is caused, on the one hand, by the increased self-awareness of society, when a humane relation to each suffering person should become the norm, and on the other hand, the approval of new regulations defining the place of palliative care in the Russian healthcare system and ensuring the possibility of its practical rendering”.
In this issue readers will find answers to many questions regarding the organization of palliative care for incurable patients.
