FSUE “Endopharm” launched into public circulation “Ketamine-ENDOPHARM”, 100 mg/ml solution in 5 ml bottles, a domestic medicinal product for veterinary use.
First batches of the drug have already arrived at authorized locations in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Orenburg ready for dispatch to veterinary hospitals.
“Ketamine-ENDOPHARM” belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group of drugs for non-inhalational general anesthesia (anesthetic drugs).
The drug is prescribed to dogs and cats as an analgesic and for general non-inhalational anesthesia in combination with butorphanol and medetomidine or xylazine. The drug can be used in cats as monotherapy for immobilization and minor operations that do not require muscle relaxation.
Ketamine belongs to Schedule II of the “List of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors subject to control in the Russian Federation”.
The circulation (purchase, transportation, storage, release within its organizational structure, use and (or) destruction) of the drug “Ketamine-ENDOPHARM” is carried in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The drug is dispensed to veterinary organizations through authorized intermediaries, similar to the system used for narcotic and psychotropic drugs for medical use. Veterinary clinics must obtain the appropriate license to use the drug in their practice.
“Ketamine-ENDOPHARM” is intended only for use by veterinary specialists in hospital settings and cannot be sold through pharmacy (retail) chains.
